Because earlier GeoTrek weapons proved a massive success on Calypso, the company decided to launch a new series of BLP rifles to complement their older models. The new CR (Calypso Rifle) series are sold under the name CalyTrek, to highlight how they have been specifically adapted to the needs of the colonists living on the planet.

The CR Spirit rifles are the higher end rifles of this series. The name is supposed to represent the spirit of the colonists on the planet.
